Trump is hoping desperately that the war he started on Iran is over.
Will he claim it as a triumph for his peacemaking genius the like of which the world has never seen and award himself a Noble Peace Prize? Or does he realise that if you start a war, that cancels out any praise you may claim for stopping it?
One problem that Trump faces is that his peace deal involves Israel, and Netanyahu may not want to stop his carpet bombing of Middle East towns because when the dust settles he may be served with legal papers regarding corruption charges. However, Israel and Hezbollah have just signed a ceasefire, so we may hope that the military madness will finally stop.
If the madness does stop, the world can heave a sigh of relief that Trump’s Iran War did not escalate into a global nuclear war.
