Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs ) working for Peace
Here are some organisations who are promoting peace in the world, which are divided here, for convenience, into British and International, although effective peace organisations are by definition international. There are many other such organisations.
The sheer diversity of the global movement for peace is its strength and its weakness. We each have our perspective, filling in gaps, but we need to coordinate our efforts.
Perhaps we should try to come together around a Peace Manifesto, and use the International Day of Peace to produce a year round developing campaign to press leaders to think more systematically about peace.

Given the vast number of NGOs, activists and academics working for peace, it is reasonable to ask why we are not more effective? At least part of the answer is that each of the peace organisations is ploughing its own furrow.
They do have coordination meetings, where information about their activities is exchanged, (Rethinking Security being one) but coordination needs to be increased, and a clear common focus on what we are trying to do might help to bring this about.
