PREVENTING TRUMP’S INVASION OF GREENLAND
As of 2026, President Donald J Trump is uttering threats of invading and annexing Greenland, which has numerous rich mineral resources and a strategically valuable situation on the Arctic Circle.
Trump’s intentions are absolutely unacceptable, and would reduce international politics to a chaotic system governed by naked political and military violence.
What can civilised nations do about it?
It would be pointless for Greenland, even if backed by Denmark and other civilised nations to fight the USA, by reason of the loss of life and environmental damage that would result.
There is a better way.
The British Government (acting with other Governments) can warn all US corporations based on their soil that if they profit in any way from the annexation, those corporations will be taken to Court, where the Government will seek to acquire assets from them equivalent to the illegal profits that the companies stand to make in Greenland. The assets will be used to compensate Greenlanders, and to finance further legal action designed to reverse Trump’s annexation.
This legal action will hit Trump and his corporate supporters where it matters, in their profitability, and the threat itself will hopefully be enough to bring the USA to its senses.
It is a perfectly feasible course of action, and the only reason that it is not done is that nobody is talking about it. We the people need to take action.
